Palace Progress!

Thanks everyone for the hard work, patience, and encouragement the last couple years. We appreciate it and are very happy the Motor Palace is on it's way to reality.

THE OLD WALL
The foundation was undermined on the right. As it settled the wall rotated right. You can see the cracks above/left of the door  where it lifted and the right edge of the door where it was pulling away. The door and the left (south) wall remained square.
Inside view of cracks. We'll use windows to let light in now. We will miss the photo ops.


THE NEW WALL
Joe (Builder) and Robert (Architect) sent some pictures of the work on the "Mud Room" walls. This is the rear wall of the apartment. The wall is east facing and the windows will be glass block to allow morning sunshine.
Robert's great shot clearly demonstrates the high quality of Joe and his crew's work!

The old door earned it's right to  by remain as is.

Mike Hodis of Rising Sun Jeans hosted a post Inspiration party Sunday with all the trimmings. Rising Sun hand crafts denim and work wear on antique sewing machines using traditional techniques and the highest quality materials. Mike's passion for quality is only rivaled by his knowledge and skill. Took the R100S out Santiago Canyon to try out the new throttle cables...they work, and had lunch at the Silverado Cafe . This place is pretty good. It reminds me of the cafes found in small towns far away from California. The waitress was real nice, the food was good, and lunch was less than $10 including coffee! Pantera motor spotted at Belmont Shores car show today. Thanks for humoring me. This is a test for the mobile blog thing. It finally worked! Since you're here...this car really had a gold plated drivetrain and lots of trim including custom made bumpers. Believe it or not it looked really cool in a strange way. Here you go Barbary Buzzard. Triumph update, Lori's Goat Farm, and Stalking a Crazy Old Jeep

Lucky Triumph Last week's Triumph troubles are turning out to be a pretty good thing...if you're the Triumph. Lori's been wanting to do something with it for awhile and said, "Since it needs a battery I might as well take the gas tank off and see about paint." So the battery's here, the tank and rear fender are off, she's shopping for a tail light assembly, and pondering some paint options. Here's a few pictures of her tearing it apart after we siphoned the gas out of it. Here's a few more with the color turned on. Agriculture Report The seedlings were transplanted into their new pots Saturday. Lori knocked the bottoms out of the eggshells and planted them with Marigolds to help repel insects.
