Harvest Moon

Image
A full moon, temperature in the high 70s, and orange lights from the building next door were good reasons to break out the tripod and play around for awhile. READ MORE Moon peeking over warehouse across the tracks from the shop

El Camino Motorcycle Show and Swap

Image
Classic Cycle Events hosted the 37th annual  El Camino Motorcycle Show and Swap  at their new home, Irwindale Raceway. The usual location at El Camino College is getting earthquake retrofits and the event has outgrown the venue. Despite the change the event was a huge success with thirty more venders than last year and free motorcycle parking. Irwindale Raceway is a great place and probably easier to get to for just about anybody east fo the 405. The change is for the better but we'll miss the short rows of the old parking structure. We definitely plan on attending next year. This is the best So-Cal events all year, a place you see exotic and rare right next to regular old junk. Sportster

Links Page up!

We got our "Links" page up and running and will continue to add content as we experience new places we like. If a place is on this page we tried it and liked it. We hope your visits go as well as ours and apologize in advance if you're disappointed. For now we are including Route 66 related places exclusively but will probably expand to other road trip related and noteworthy places like Frank's Diner in Kenosha, WI. see, we just did one and if you go there you'll thank us. We're home, sort of...

Home Arrived in SoCal Thursday stopping at the Outpost on Route 66 and 395 for an always good lunch. The Outpost still cooks "Truck Stop" food the way it used to be and it's always served by friendly people who make you feel welcome. (You over-thirty travelers know what I'm talking about, the rest of you should ride up and see what you've been missing).
