Yesterdays Work It's 16° outside now but will be in the mid 50s later. The important thing is it's warm inside, I have a working coffee maker, and delicious coffee from Mojo Coffee here in Winslow. Coffee kitchen Where I'm sitting right now with fresh darker paint on walls. Morning sun Plumbing With a lot of grinding and guessing we have all our faucets working properly. I'm not too excited about the finish I chose for handles but they're working and the stems will now accept any handle from "Made in USA" California Faucets .  Antique fixtures are a challenge, but after countless hours of effort...water runs and stops. Search for Bathroom Accessories Olde Good Things specializes in Architectural salvage and and other mostly large antiques. Bathroom accessories were a long shot but it was an excuse to drive up and see their L.A store in person. It's not the biggest store I've ever seen but it's packed with some amazing and very big things! Lori and I had wandered in different directions when I ran across an interesting "corner booth thing." I continued down the next aisle and looped back to find her, I wanted to show it to her. We circled each other a few minutes and when we met she was standing in front of the booth. She'd found it too and wanted to show me. We had both envisioned it in the exact same spot at The Motor Palace. A half an hour later we left with no bath fixtures, but we had a Ram full of booth and accessories. Hobo Life We planned to be in Winslow September 28th-October 6th but events unknown until recently prevented me from being gone. Lori scheduled the time off last December and is unable to to change her schedule on late notice so she drove out alone and spent a few days with her parents. There's a Metrolink station walking distance from the shop and the Motor Palace on the other end so I decided to give the train a shot. The ride goes overnight and I figured I'd sleep my way to Winslow. I was seated next to a nice lady from a few hours outside Kansas City Missouri. She was born in an insane asylum and raised in an orphanage, the widow of a railroad man she has a nice pension. Her sons live in California and she came out last year to live with them. After her oldest son slashed her youngest son's throat (he's ok and they still share a trailer) she told them she was going to take a vacation.
