Flew out to Kansas City to see a couple new motorcycles. It's a nice clean city...you should go there. Everything you've heard about the steaks and barbecue are true and the people who live there are very tolerant of Californians.

The Motorcycles
Just go to Harley-Davidson's page and take a look or Google Harley-Davidson Street if you don't already know everything about them. Be sure to check Cycle World's page for clarification and details on the manufacturing of the Street models for sale in USA. They are being built in Kansas City for USA and in India for bikes sold in India, Spain, Portugal, and others as they ramp up. This is to avoid tariffs and keep the price of this motorcycle affordable to new riders. If you haven't, you should look at dealer websites overseas and check the prices on new motorcycles and you'll see why.

Central California
I rode up to see my mother this weekend and got to visit some of my favorite roads and see her new cat!
Murray Family Farms for Tri-Tip sandwiches, fresh fruit, coffee, and really nice people!

In the early '80's I spun a Saab at the entrance curve and stopped about where the Road King is -pointing backward-without hitting anything-pure luck.

Soda Lake. It's flat and much bigger then it looks. The bottom of the white stripe is a few miles from the top.

Tail end of lake. You used to be able to ride around the back side of it but it's closed now. 

Almost half way. Only about 20 miles was dirt.

Mike Hodis of Rising Sun Jeans hosted a post Inspiration party Sunday with all the trimmings. Rising Sun hand crafts denim and work wear on antique sewing machines using traditional techniques and the highest quality materials. Mike's passion for quality is only rivaled by his knowledge and skill. Took the R100S out Santiago Canyon to try out the new throttle cables...they work, and had lunch at the Silverado Cafe . This place is pretty good. It reminds me of the cafes found in small towns far away from California. The waitress was real nice, the food was good, and lunch was less than $10 including coffee! I'm going to try breakfast next time. Cafe Racer Lunch Counter at Silverado Cafe I was honored to be allowed to drink from Rosemary's pretty cat mug. Pantera motor spotted at Belmont Shores car show today. Thanks for humoring me. This is a test for the mobile blog thing. It finally worked! Since you're here...this car really had a gold plated drivetrain and lots of trim including custom made bumpers. Believe it or not it looked really cool in a strange way. Here you go Barbary Buzzard. Camp 66 Motor Palace!

The mirror we bought at the swap meet in Tustin fits! We'll hang it up after we paint. We finally got to sleep in the Motor Palace! The apartment's almost done so we decided to give it a try for the 18th Annual "Just Cruzin' Car Show." "Almost done" as in electricity, water, toilet, walls, heating and AC.
