A Day in Nor-Cal via the Big Valley
Jim and I did a quick overnighter to Auburn to pick up the Yamaha Scrambler and do a little shopping at the Annual Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Show and Swap Meet.

Craigslist Score!
I planned on ordering a hub puller to remove the rear brake drums from the Jeep on Monday but a last minute search of Craigslist saved the day! A guy in Irvine was selling the one I wanted (Blackhawk/Proto Made in USA) brand new and I saved about $100! The guy and his twin brother race a Mustang and are unloading some of their duplicate stuff. Anyway after lots of pounding I found the place where of spiders died.
This tool or one like it is what you need to remove hubs from taper axles.
Like the rest of this Jeep. Dirty and stuck but not worn.

Mike's passion for quality is only rivaled by his knowledge and skill. Took the R100S out Santiago Canyon to try out the new throttle cables...they work, and had lunch at the Silverado Cafe . This place is pretty good. It reminds me of the cafes found in small towns far away from California. The waitress was real nice, the food was good, and lunch was less than $10 including coffee! Pantera motor spotted at Belmont Shores car show today. Thanks for humoring me. This is a test for the mobile blog thing. It finally worked! Since you're here...this car really had a gold plated drivetrain and lots of trim including custom made bumpers. Believe it or not it looked really cool in a strange way. Here you go Barbary Buzzard. Triumph update, Lori's Goat Farm, and Stalking a Crazy Old Jeep

Lucky Triumph Last week's Triumph troubles are turning out to be a pretty good thing...if you're the Triumph. Lori's been wanting to do something with it for awhile and said, "Since it needs a battery I might as well take the gas tank off and see about paint." So the battery's here, the tank and rear fender are off, she's shopping for a tail light assembly, and pondering some paint options. Here's a few pictures of her tearing it apart after we siphoned the gas out of it. Here's a few more with the color turned on. Agriculture Report The seedlings were transplanted into their new pots Saturday. Lori knocked the bottoms out of the eggshells and planted them with Marigolds to help repel insects.
