Santa Rosa, NM is a good Route 66 town with some real good food. The fat man smiling on the sign came from the Club Cafe which served from 1935 'til 1991-2. The Campos family bought it a few years later but the building needed too much repair so they moved the fat man smiling to their restaurant. This place is real good.

Childress, TX is on the 287 about half way between Amarillo and Ft. Worth. The highway goes right through the middle of town. It looked better in real life than in these pictures.

Lucky Triumph Last week's Triumph troubles are turning out to be a pretty good thing...if you're the Triumph. Lori's been wanting to do something with it for awhile and said, "Since it needs a battery I might as well take the gas tank off and see about paint." So the battery's here, the tank and rear fender are off, she's shopping for a tail light assembly, and pondering some paint options. Here's a few pictures of her tearing it apart after we siphoned the gas out of it. Here's a few more with the color turned on. Agriculture Report The seedlings were transplanted into their new pots Saturday. Lori knocked the bottoms out of the eggshells and planted them with Marigolds to help repel insects. They're taking well to their new homes and look like they've grown in the last twenty four hours! Missouri Famly, LA Auto Show, the Pantry

SHOP NOW VISIT our WEBSITE After my cousin Tim posted a picture of our grandfather in a WWI Navy uniform (I never knew he was in the Navy) I got a little curious about my family. I Googled my grandfather and learned he was born in Missouri. I'm pretty happy about that because I liked riding Route 66 through Missouri last summer and everyone we met there was really nice. Wendy and John who we hung out with in Seligman, AZ are from Missouri too! My Grandfather's parents, brothers, and sisters in 1894. He was born in 1895 and didn't make this photo. My Grandmother was born in Mississippi near Tupelo on the Natchez Trace. She was a librarian and school teacher in Forrest City, Arkansas before marrying my grandfather and moving to California in the late 30s.  My Grandmother Mabel Wren and Grandfather Hayden Law 1937. A fine time on the High Plateau

Today is our 15th Anniversary! Happy Anniversary Lori! Yesterday was nice too Lori took the truck to her parents so I hitched a ride from the motel with "Stoney" (a tile man working on the soon to be Soda Fountain across from us). The mornings have been cool and calm and at 7:00 tourists trickle in just a couple at a time. They're continuing the sidewalk improvements in front of the Motorcycle Parking. Our lamp post and theater reflected in the front window. Looking north to "a corner" with a "flat bed Ford." Old sign and other stuff we've found in Jenny's and the Motor Palace. These guys were heading home from Flagstaff. Pre-dinner exploration We drove out to Clear Creek before dinner to have a look, this is 5.8 miles from the Motor Palace.
