Truck hunting on the Central Coast.

Back on December 2nd we loaded the L-Rod with cash and warm Made in USA clothing and headed to Cambria in search of a new/old truck. Lori wants a Panel Truck and I'm thinkin' '70s Stepside 4x4. I know-I know get the Panel, but I've wanted a Stepside Chevy since high school.

Check it out! Room 6...that's 66 less a 6 and the address is 2662 Main Street. Coincidence? I think not.

We had dinner at the Sow's Ear. This place is great, the Chicken Fried Steak is real steak.  (View from Lynn's Fruit Bin)

This is Camozzi's. I was never thrown out of Camozzi's...for sure. 

This a patio/garden area behind the Motel. The air was 45 degrees but the sun was so hot I had to take off my Jacket.  

After breakfast we drove to to see a '62 Panel in Los Osos with short stops in Harmony and Cayucos.

Harmony: Population 18. Next time you're on Highway One you should stop there.

Mike Hodis of Rising Sun Jeans hosted a post Inspiration party Sunday with all the trimmings. Rising Sun hand crafts denim and work wear on antique sewing machines using traditional techniques and the highest quality materials. Mike's passion for quality is only rivaled by his knowledge and skill. Took the R100S out Santiago Canyon to try out the new throttle cables...they work, and had lunch at the Silverado Cafe . This place is pretty good. It reminds me of the cafes found in small towns far away from California. The waitress was real nice, the food was good, and lunch was less than $10 including coffee! Pantera motor spotted at Belmont Shores car show today. Thanks for humoring me. This is a test for the mobile blog thing. It finally worked! Since you're here...this car really had a gold plated drivetrain and lots of trim including custom made bumpers. Believe it or not it looked really cool in a strange way. Here you go Barbary Buzzard. Camp 66 Motor Palace!

The mirror we bought at the swap meet in Tustin fits! We'll hang it up after we paint. We finally got to sleep in the Motor Palace! The apartment's almost done so we decided to give it a try for the 18th Annual "Just Cruzin' Car Show." "Almost done" as in electricity, water, toilet, walls, heating and AC.
