Jeep not meant to be... First the bad news. The Jeep isn't for sale. Now the good news. The Jeep isn't abandoned. The owner just rescued it and is fixing it up for his grandsons. I'll be keeping an eye out and hope to see it around town. Pomona Swap Meet Southern California has a lot to offer--the weather's great, and there are countless rides, shows, races,  and a hundred other things every weekend. But when it's all said and done, if I leave this place the things I'll miss the most are the  Pomona  and  Long Beach  Swap Meets. If you ever want to surprise me I love 66-67 Dodge Chargers. BAD HAIR DAY Lori had a hair appointment Saturday and chose to ride her Bonneville, it's been sitting awhile so she gave it a nice bath, aired up the tires, and put it on a battery charger for a (little) while. It was a kinda hard to start and didn't idle too well but we figured the ride to Newport would make everything better. I guess it did until she got into traffic. It still wasn't idling well and stalled at several intersections. Finally the repeated starts did the poor battery in completely. Luckily she was over the hills and about a mile to PCH. She coasted to a parking lot and walked to the salon in time for her appointment. It didn't miraculously heal so I picked them up in the truck. Route 66 News (for reals) I crashed the Route 66 IECA organization's Kick-Off Party for the Rancho Cucamonga Service Station restoration project Wednesday and learned a little about their mision. The Rancho Cucamonga Service Station has been abandoned since the early '70s. It's one of the few Route 66 icons standing in Rancho Cucamonga and has been perilously close to demolition. The Route 66 IECA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose members got the city, public, and the previous property owner behind a plan to restore it. We'll let them fill you in on the details.
