A little ride time

Image
Farmer's Market and Fun with Cameras The sidecar got Farmer's Market duty this week. I forget how much fun this thing is, we really need to take it on a long ride. I'm working on an idea here. No Filter, no edit, no funny in camera effects, no nothin'. I took a few with the X2 and missed the focus, luckily I had this iPhone shot. After high school my parents moved to Ridgecrest and I moved to San Luis Obispo and Bakersfield became a regular stop on the trip back and forth. My father and I would meet at Johnny's BMW (where I saw my first Paris/Dakar), Randy Coates and I rode over in search of the best Chicken Fried Steak a few times, and the 58 being one of my favorite roads I would often ride to Bakersfield, turn around and ride back. I even have a Bakersfield Playlist on iTunes. I've been wanti...

Inspiration Show

Image
Rin Tanaka of "My Freedamn" fame pulled off his move from the Queen Mar y to the Spruce Goose Dome next door without a hitch. The content and enthusiasm of Inspiration participants makes this show. Rin could host his show in a Wal Mart and it would be a big success. Rin Tanaka signing my Schott 100th anniversary book. Real nice tent. Triumph and Dehen Sweaters. Sportster and Pretty nice tent. Jeff Decker's display. We're honored to offer the above Hippodrome items and others for sale. We're thinking about selling Chippewa Boots (we wear them). What do you think?  Gonna get this posted so we can crash a few after parties, we'll post pics if we don't get our cameras smashed.

Some of the cool things we sell.

Thank you veterans. My cousin and I are friends on Facebook, we haven't seen each other in "real life" since sometime in the mid '70s. Back then I spent my time riding motorcycles and swimming. Tim is a little younger and  he liked swimming. We never stayed in touch and while I was riding motorcycles he got a PHD at Columbia. On Veterans Day he posted this picture on our Grandfather in his Navy Uniform from WWI. Our Grandpa Law died when I was young and I never knew he was in the Navy. Thanks Tim for this knowledge, thanks Veterans for protecting our rights including the ability to share our thoughts and beliefs in this world of social media and instant communication...and thanks to whoever thought up "sexting." Route 66 Fall Trip

Image
Time once again to hit the Mother Road for some fall fun and a quick check on the 66 Motor Palace in Winslow! Not a whole lot has changed along the route--which is good. For those of you on Facebook, who saw the picture Brian took of Lori taking a picture, well... here's the picture Lori took. Pretty, eh? No 66 trip is complete without a stop in Amboy! Just in case you didn't know, Roy's is open for gas and icy cold beverages, and is certainly one of the favorite stops along Route 66 for photo ops. We'd planned to tour the Grand Canyon Caverns just outside of Seligman (our pal from Joy Ride Vintage in Orange recommended it), but it was getting late and we still had miles to go. We're definitely going to stop on our return trip so check back in a few days for pictures. Instead, we stopped in Seligman for some mighty fine tacos at the DelGadillio's Snow Cap.   By the way, if you want one of those Jeff Decker Hippodrome T-Shirts ...
