Rudy Martinez Memorial Car Show

Image
We spent most of Sunday at the Memorial Car Show for our friend Rudy Martinez. Rudy was a builder of custom cars, trucks and anything else he found interesting. He owned Auto Upholstery of Orange and excelled in wild custom, traditional hot rod, cafe and high end restoration work. We met him right after moving to Orange and he is responsible for getting us into our 66 Motor Palace location on Rodder's Row in Old Town Orange. Bondorella and the R50 Beetles  Grant and the guys from Born Free Shows were there. Rat Rod and the Dirty Rat Rods. Sleds  Lori and Bondorella got second in Best Custom.  Rudy did the seat on the YM-1 The R50 and spring flowers in the alley.

A couple day rides.

Then we'll do the fun stuff (tile, flooring, finish stuff). Then he'll bail us out when we get stuck. Joe grew up in Winslow and did work on the Motor Palace when it was Jenny's. It turns out Jenny's was named after the owners wife and he still lives in the area. Joe's going to arrange for us to meet. A better shot of Jigger and Dusty's table. That framing's coming down. This wall's going to be replaced. Another contrived reflection shot. I picked up some supplies on the way home...
